Innovate Cambridge has established a new hub,the Glasshouse, supporting and connecting innovators, investors, and high growth science and technology companies in the Cambridge ecosystem. Director Dr Kathryn Chapman introduced at a festive lunch.

Virothera completes fourth preclinical program with NIH/NIAID and presents summary
Progressing from our third program in 2023 presented at the International Society of Vaccines and at Biotech Showcase in January 2024, our fourth program continues to show first and best in class results for our novel HSV-2 therapeutic vaccine. This disease, genital herpes, a lifelong, persistent and recurrent STI, affects 13% of the world, causes fatal neonatal infections and increases spread of HIV. Drugs do not stop it coming back and there is no vaccine, Virothera’s novel immunetherapeutic is aiming for a cure.

Virothera awarded prestigious iCASE industry PhD studentship with Department of Genetics in Cambridge
Our CEO/CSO plans joint supervision of a project to investigate genome variation in immunetherapy and vaccination. This program is part of the leading doctoral training program at University of Cambridge and enables students to experience innovation development in the key intersection of academia and industry.

Virothera joined all at Milner Therapeutics Institute to congratulate Director Sir Tony Kouzarides on his knighthood
Virothera joined the celebrations for the knighthood for Professor Sir Tony Kouzarides, the Director and innovator of the Milner Therapeutics Institute where Virothera is based. This is a unique environment located within Cambridge biomedical campus, Europe’s leading lifescience cluster which mixes academic researchers, startups, SMEs and big pharma in a high tech shared space to accelerate development of therapies. In July Virothera joined the Milner Therapeutic Institute at its annual Symposia led by Sir Tony.

Virothera Scientific Advisory Board joined by senior Biotech clinical oncologist, Dr Alain Thibault
Dr Thibault joined our world-class SAB in infectious disease, bringing expert clinical immune oncology and regulatory expertise. Dr Thibault previously held senior roles at Regeneron, Argenx, Johnson & Johnson, and Roche. Virothera continues to develop its novel immune therapeutic approach with lessons from infectious disease for much needed new treatments for solid tumours.

Virothera selected to present R&D spotlight in infectious disease at Biotrinity
Virothera presented the successful development of a novel therapeutic for HSV-2 At Biotrinity, a leading biotechnology R&D and investor conference run by OBN, Oxford Biotechnology Network. Virothera’s studies, supported by the NIH/NIAID in the USA, show a new paradigm for treating persistent disease, oncology and autoimmune conditions.
